This IBM Redbook describes IBM IMS Data Management Tools for Fast Path databases and provides some examples of how to use them. The main focus in this book is the products IMS Fast Path Basic Tools, IMS Fast Path Online Tools, and IMS DEDB Fast Recovery, but it also contains information on some other IMS Tools that can be used for administering and recovering Fast Path databases. The other products discussed with the usage examples in this book are the IMS Database Control Suite, IMS Image Copy Extensions, and IMS Database Repair Facility. We also include a short description of the IMS Online Recovery Service (ORS). This publication complements the information that can be found in the IBM Redbook Ensuring IMS Data Integrity Using IMS Tools, SG24-6533, which was written to cover the tools that can be used for administering and recovering the full-function databases. The non-Fast Path specific products (IMS Database Control Suite, IMS Image Copy Extensions, and IMS Database Repair Facility) can be used for both full-function and Fast Path databases, and thus they are covered in both publications. In this publication, the examples show how to use these tools for Fast Path databases. The full-function usage examples can be found in the publication mentioned above.
